I have worked on DM2Exp all day today and have gotten pretty far! Its actually pretty easy to add the Exp. So far you can start a new game and load a previously saved game. The save screen allows you to load or save Original or Expansion saves. The Expansion starts you off in the Hometown with some unexpected visitors!

I have just completed the intro and basic storyline.
The game starts 10 years after Nina opens her shop. Ryu and Marlee are married and have an eight year old boy named after their favorite person (you have to find out who that is!), Ryu owns the local weapon shop in town and trains the guards. Maurice stops by to visit and say hi, he lives by himself in the mountains nowadays. Unexpectedly an attack on the hometown occurs.
One of the three heroes, Nina, Ryu, or Maruice dies...the saga continues...
Who did it? Why? Whats going to happen? Find out when I'm done!

When I'm done with DM2EXP, I will make an IssaSoft CD ISO that people can download and burn a copy and sell it online for like $2 paypal. It'll have all my games on one CD. Or maybe I'll sell DM2EXP for like $1 I am not sure. I need to make some more money to support the site, my costs are $9 a year for the name, $6 a month for hosting. So about $80 a year I need to recoup and I only get like $25.

Well so far its going along good. You can load original and expansion games at any time, its actually been easy since all the code is there. I am planning to max the level cap to about 50, no stat increase, but getting to level 50 you will have 90 more points to distribute to your stats. In addition you can raise each spell group two more, you wont get a new spell, but it will be a passive affect. Like level 4 in spirit gives all spirit spells +10% healing, level 5 in healing gives +25%, level 4 in attack gives +10% to attack spells, etc. I am also planning to add more monsters obviously, about two more in each equipment category. Also, you will have freedom to travel all over the map, so you can still get items you might have missed. More music will be added too. I wont release a version for a while until a lot of it is done, I rather suprise everybody!

Yea, make it so that you can level up after you beat the game and not have to start at the save right before the final boss. Maybe even make i so that there are more things to do after you beat the game, like SUPER ULTRA MEGA SUPER SECRET BOSS!!!
That would be cool.

Hey Issa. I haven't forgotten you yet, and I hope you remember me, too.
Great idea, expanding the storyline of DMII. I look forward to it.
About your monetary problems... I think what you need is a little advertising. How many people has actually heard of this site? Not very few, but it could have been so many more people on this forum. [praise] An RPG at the same quality level as an average Issasoft RPG is something you may find in 1 out of 10-15 random freeware RPG's, and I know what I'm talking about. I've got more than 250 freeware games on my computer, size ranging from 100 kB to 2 GB. I've played some ASCII RPG's too, and of course they
have very good gameplay, but they get tiresome after a while, while you are striking that tiny spot between comfortable graphics and exciting gameplay.
[/praise]
You make good RPG's, and I bet your popularity would have been bigger if more people knew your games.
On a side note: What programming language do you use? Will you ever consider releasing the script for one of your early games?

Re: Update to DMII: When?
This sounds cool. Didn't know you had been working on an expansion. Any chance this will ever come out?
Re: Update to DMII: When?
Sorry to dissapoint but that was a cancelled project. I accounced the decision and actually made the first version (only I had it), but then I realized it would take too much time.
But that doesnt mean I wont ever make another version later on, I will someday.
